Christmas Photos

Every year we used to take a Christmas photo for our Christmas cards. because we lived far from many of our family and friends, we always tried to get the family (or as many as were available) in the picture... no doubt I'll be updating these as I find more around the house in various drawers and boxes... I do remember this... it wasn't easy getting everyone to cooperate! It would take a whole roll of pictures and about an hour of shooting before everyone finally had enough! Most of the time this wound up being  a painful exercise with tempers flaring! Looking back, I'm so glad that I persisted... it was sort of like making everyone take medicine-- this was much like a mother's lament: "you may not enjoy this but you'll thank me later!"

1993 (?)
For quite a few years we'd go out to Pennsylvania and hunt for our Christmas tree on a tree farm. This particular year it was bitter cold and windy, and everyone was quite cranky, including Ed! This was the year, when, as we kept walking further and further to find our "perfect" tree, Ed came out with a statement that has become part of family history: "The further we go down the hill, the further we have to come back up the hill."

This was the year when Michael had had his car accident. It was amazing that he survived. We were blessed! He was still on crutches but didn't want to stand with them in this photo.

Hmmm...not sure about this one. I'll have to ask the kids to see if they remember... it may have been 2003...
